Optimising
The Product Range |
|
Extensive research and development has
earned GEECOM a reputation for
reliability and efficiency. This is only
possible through careful selection of the
right products to complement the services
provided. We provide a full range of
mechanical products to complement customer
needs for individual components spare parts
as well as turn-key solutions for
Electrostatic Precipitators. |

Discharge
Electrodes |
|
The basic principle of
electrostatic precipitation requires the
highest possible level of electrical
charging of the suspended particles. The
effectiveness of this charge is one of the
determining factors in the overall
performance of an Electrostatic
Precipitator. Discharge electrodes are thus
seen as fundamental components used in the
optimisation processes leading to the
highest possible collecting efficiency.
Through the use of
in-house test precipitators to evaluate the
effectiveness of various combinations on
flashover propagation as well as many years
of experience in the field, we have
developed two types of discharge electrodes
(G-Spring™, G-Spike™) each comprising
special attributes in accordance with
relevant application and the following
benefits: |
|
|
|
G-SPRING™ |
- Constructed of square wire
resulting in sharp edges which
enhance corona discharge.
- Uniform corona discharge
pattern.
- Optimum torsional
properties.
- Developed for easy
replacement of
outdated/inefficient discharge
electrodes.
- Anti-corrosive material.
- Ease of transport and
installation.
|
|
 |
|
G-SPIKE™ |
- Highly aggressive electrode
with razor sharp spikes.
- Very high electrical current
and voltage carrying capacity.
- Increase % of corona
discharge resulting in higher
possible level of precipitation.
- Tubular configuration
minimizes "onset" voltage and
enhances corona discharge at
spikes.
- Ideal rapping impact
frequency transfer.
- Corrosion resistant as well
as impervious to dust and
"sandblasting" effect.

Collector Electrodes
(Plates) |
|
|
Specialized elements comprising the
following: |
|
|
- Top hanging brackets as well as bottom
supports are riveted to each collector plate.
- Both top and bottom brackets are
further enhanced by corresponding backing plates
acting along entire width of collecting plate in
order to achieve better rigidity and shock
transfer
- Collector Electrode surface is
ribbed along length of plate. These ribs
increase plate rigidity

|
|
Rapping
Systems |
|
|
Main benefits as follows: |
|
|
- Direct drive elements eliminating
consequences arising out of cam lifting devices
and chain/sprocket links
- Indexed shaft to allow sequential
rapping thus eliminating probability for dust
re-entreiment and/or excessive "puffing"
- Tumbler type rapping hammers with
rotating "heads" thus eliminating possibility of
jamming against mechanical structures
